Meet the Staff

  1. Pre-School/PreK - Mrs. Dale
Mrs. Dale has been a part of the MCCS family since 2002 when her older son started kindergarten. Both of her now giant sons have moved on to high school, and she has happily remained behind as our pre-school/pre-k teacher. Julia, James, and their two boys attend First Baptist Church in Shelton. Julia is one of the most fun people you will ever meet, a child at heart. She loves to watch movies and play board games (and not only just when she wins) and sew and bake and make her mind go in a million different directions at the same time! She is passionate about loving her neighbor--even if inconvenient and outside her comfort zone. Julia's thought bubble on life says: Everyone who crosses my path was made in God's image--on purpose with a purpose. That's huge! Julia's advice to students: "Never say "I can't." Say, "I will try," then TRY, even if it's hard. You may surprise yourself."
  2. Kindergarten & PM First Grade - Mrs. Lake
Hello, I’m Mrs. Lake and I am from Missouri. However, in the 11 years that I have lived in Mason County. I have fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest. I have two children, Lillian is seven and Mathew is four years old. I have been married to my best friend, Stephen, for seven years. I love going on adventures with my family. We like to go to the creek, hike, swim, fly kites at the beach, and camp in the summer. We like to try new things. My favorite Bible verse is Matthew 17:20. “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” As a teacher and individual, I believe the best way to learn is hands-on! As my favorite storybook teacher Miss Frizzle would say, “Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!” I look forward to an exciting and messy year with my kindergarten class!
  3. 1st Grade AM & 2nd Grade PM - Mrs. Holzgrove
Kristi has been a part of the MCCS family for many years, as a mom, volunteer, and beloved "Library Lady". We are very excited to have Mrs. Holzgrove on staff as our first grade teacher. She brings not only a deep love for Jesus, a passion for teaching children, and instills daily in students a love for reading, writing and learning. As an avid traveler, she inspires students learn not only about the community around them, but the world as a whole.
  4. 2rd Grade AM - Mrs. Carnahan
  5. 3rd Grade - Ms. Faubion
Greetings MCCS community! My name is Ms. Faubion. I have been a resident of Mason County since 2006 and attend Shelton FBC. I enjoy hiking with my dogs through local forests. I am an avid beach glass and agate hunter. I also love camping, sewing, ballroom dancing, bug catching, poetry, and knock-knock jokes. I look forward to sharing a good knock-knock joke with you! I am excited to meet the students and families that are part of the MCCS community and begin our year of learning and adventure. Remember, you don’t have to be perfect or know every answer, but you do need to try and know how to find out the answer!
  6. 4th Grade Math - Mrs. Carpenter
I am a native of Shelton, and a graduate of Irene S. Reed, the old high school where the library is now. When I was 3 years old, my mother led me in receiving Jesus as my Savior. After graduating from Biola College in California and teaching four years in Olympia, I married and lived in Portland. I returned to Shelton following my husband's death in 1987. I have been at MCCS since 1989, when we were holding school in the old Moose Hall at the airport. My four children are all graduates of our school, and I have been blessed with five dear grandchildren. My interests include gardening, reading, my Sunday school class of 2/3 year-olds, and my family. I love teaching here because I can teach everything from the beginning point of God and His Word. My advice to students is, "Be sure Jesus is your Savior, and build your entire life on Him!".
  7. 4 & 5th Grade - Mr. Endicott
I graduated from Seattle Pacific College with a B.A. in Physical Education with a minor in Elementary Education. I started my teaching career at Hood Canal Junior High in 1977. I began with MCCS in 1978 and have been at the school for over thirty years. My wife, Sheryl, and I have four children and 12 grandchildren. We attend Hood Canal Community Church. I have many interests. I enjoy athletics, music, working with wood, gardening, and reading. For recreation, I love fishing, swimming, backpacking, and being active in general. I'm interested in teaching young people the hold hymns and gospel songs and to sing them with joy!

I’ve been a teach 7/8th grade at MCCS since 2002. I love being a teacher of junior high students. They keep me young. I have an AA degree from Olympic College. Teaching runs in the family. My husband Bill is now retired from teaching at MCCS. My oldest daughter also has her BA in secondary education. I have three children, two sons-in-law and four grandchildren. I love being a wife and mom - raising my children to love God and become responsible adults has been my passion and delight. We attend Shelton First Baptist Church. I am passionate about American History so it has been a highlight to visit Washington DC with my class. I love to read, especially historical fiction. My advice to students: "Even if you don't like a certain subject in school, learn as much as you can because you don't know how God may use it in your future."
  9. 9th Grade English/History - Mrs. Hoagland
My name is Emma Hoagland and I live in Olympia with my wonderful family. My husband, Michael, and I have been married for 7 years and we have three crazy kiddos: Everly, Vann, and Violet. While at Northwest University, I studied Secondary Education with an endorsement in English. Post college, I taught English and History at Cedar Park Christian School. After the birth of my first baby, I decided to stay at home and have been so thankful that I have been able to do so. During the last 4 years, I have been raising babies and working as a doula. It is with greatest joy that I begin teaching again at the school I attended for 8 years. I am so excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to see what God has in store for the next school year.

Jeri brings to MCCS over 17 years of Education Instruction; K-12, College level, Community Interest, and on-line distance learning. She enjoys gardening, reading and community volunteering. She currently serves as the President of the Special Education PTSO for the school district.
  11. 6-9 Grades Math Teacher - Mrs. Bloomfield
I am really loving this opportunity to teach your middle schoolers. They are my favorite! My husband Hank and I have five children ages 4-14 who are attending MCCS this year for the very first time. Previously, we enjoyed homeschooling and I taught at a large homeschool co-op in Poulsbo once a week. I am currently finishing up my teaching certification with WGU's online program. Teaching is my gifting and my passion and I look forward to guiding your children through their math studies this year. Phil. 4:13 (amplified versions "I can do all things [which God has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me.
