Uniforms |
Students at Mason County Christian School (from Kindergarten through eighth grade) wear school uniforms. There are several key issues that make the wearing of a uniform a very positive thing for students:
- Uniforms offer relief from fad pressures. It is often a great burden to students to stay in style. A uniform helps students concentrate on more important things – such as school responsibilities.
- Uniforms eliminate the temptation to judge based on “social class”. Often a family’s financial standing is reflected in the clothes they can (or cannot) afford. We would rather this not be an obvious issue.
- Uniforms insure that a high standard of modesty is upheld. Among Christians, there are a variety of standards related to modesty. When the school chooses the standard, it is insured that the concept of modest apparel will be preserved throughout.
- Uniforms offer the student some work apparel. The more formal clothing promotes a better atmosphere for schoolwork.
- School Spirit. There is a potential for a sense of unity and belonging when students are dressed in their school uniforms.
- Details of the school uniform policy are in the Student Handbook
